Bridging The Gap: Having A 9-5 While Working A SIDE BUSINESS

Bridging The Gap: Having A 9-5 While Working A SIDE BUSINESS

Have you ever wondered how some people make so much money? Well, I'm here to tell you that it's not because they're better than you. It's because they've made some simple choices that allow them to work smarter, not harder. It's not about pushing yourself to the limit for every little thing. It's about making smart decisions and sticking with them.

When I started my blazer jacket business BRIDNEY WINFREY COLLECTION, I had a 9-5 job where I was still very independent and my side business was still just a side hustle. I would go to work showing properties in my blazers, complimented other women outfits because I knew that would help open them up to asking me where I got my blazer from. I was gaining followers & customers from my 9 to 5 by being a walking advertisement and just an overall cool, down to earth chick that people wanted to be around. I've also gotten invited to events and guess what I did....wore my damn blazer and passed out business cards when the time was appropriate.

But then one day it hit me: what if I could do this full-time? What if I could earn a living doing something that made me even more happy? And what if the whole world could benefit from what I was doing?

I don't know about you, but when I'm working a side hustle, it feels like I'm just getting by. The problem is that we go from hustle to hustle when will it become a business?

Don't think that you can just work an hour or two a day on your side business and expect to become a 6 figure business owner. That's not going to cut it. You need to give it everything you've got and if that means working 14 hours a day on your days off your 9-5, then so be it! Your business deserves nothing less than your complete commitment and devotion.

As some of you know I've been working a 9a-5pm in the Real Estate industry for a while now which I really enjoy, but in that time I've managed to build a side business working 6p-9pm or sometimes until 2am. It hasn't been easy especially with being a mom and making sure my daughter has all the support and love she needs from me, but it's not impossible. Here are some of my top tips for how you can do it too:

1. Find something you're passionate about. If you're not passionate about what you do, then it'll never feel like a true side hustle. Look for something that makes you excited to wake up every day and go to work (and maybe even make you smile during your commute if you're not working from home).

2. Set goals and track them! Have a plan for how much money you'd like to make per month, and set up a spreadsheet or calendar where you can track your progress towards those goals at the end of each week/month/quarter/year. Having a visual representation of the progress will help keep you motivated and feeling good about yourself as a business owner!

3. Don't make it just another job: If this is going to be your primary source of income someday soon (or even just an additional stream), then treat it like one! Give yourself time each day/week/month to work on growing the business whether through marketing or product development.

You can do this! You just have to be smart about it. Don't put all your eggs in one basket! The best way is to find a diverse set of income streams so that even if one thing fails you will still have other things bringing in income.

Make sure you are diversifying your net worth by using wealth building tools. It's important because we live in an unstable world and you never know when something could happen that would cause an economic crash or some sort of widespread disaster. If you're only relying on one stream of income, what will happen then? You'll lose everything!

it's not just about finding one more stream of income it's about building a massive and diverse portfolio of streams of income so that even if one source dries up, the rest will keep flowing. And what's better than that? Not having to worry about where your next check is coming from. Not worrying about whether or not you'll be able to pay your rent or buy groceries this month. Just being able to focus on building wealth and creating a life you love without worrying about money ever again!

That's what I want for all my fellow entrepreneurs out there: A chance at financial freedom. A chance at a life without anxiety over finances. A chance to be financially secure no matter what curve balls life throws our way!

Side Note: My biggest girl bosses in blazers while working as a real estate agent like me is my girl Christine Quinn from the Netflix show "Selling Sunset" and my other favorite realtor from the OWN series Ladies Who List: Atlanta, Quiana Watson. I love how they have built their empire from the ground up while working a "9 to 5" in real estate. They are for sure boss women in blazers and real estate who inspire me.
